Harold F. Brown

Mr. Brown joined Paladin as a Principal in 2001 and is currently involved in the sourcing of investment opportunities in the Southeastern Region of the United States for Paladin Capital Partners and Paladin Homeland Security Funds. With his extensive private equity experience, as a Special Limited Partner of Paladin, Mr. Brown will assist the General Partner in the identification of new investment opportunities for the Fund. He will also assist, on an as needed basis, with due diligence and corporate governance. Prior to joining Paladin, Mr. Brown served as Vice-President, Private Capital at a Washington, DC based financial services holding company, where he managed a portfolio of 78 private investments valued at $1.7 billion. From 1993 to 1998 Mr. Brown served at California Public Employees Retirement System ("CalPERS") as Investment Officer in the Alternative Investments Management Program. During his tenure at CalPERS, its alternative and private capital investments grew from $500 million to $8 billion with an IRR of 22%. Prior to CalPERS, Mr. Brown served as a Pension Fund Consultant to the California legislature, and as Executive Vice President and General Manager of two small business investment companies in Northern California. Mr. Brown received his B.A. in Accounting from Xavier University of Louisiana, and his M.A. Degree in Urban Planning from UCLA.
