Jaffer joins the Board, which is responsible for identifying the lessons learned following major cyber incidents.  

Washington, D.C. – May 8, 2024 – Paladin Capital Group, a Washington, D.C.-based multi-stage investor specializing in cyber and advanced technology, is pleased to announce that Venture Partner and Strategic Advisor Jamil Jaffer will join the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)’s Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB). The CSRB is a public-private partnership responsible for fact-finding and making issue recommendations after major cyber incidents. Jaffer is the only institutional venture capital investor on the Board.

In addition to advising Paladin on its investments, Jaffer is also the Founder and Executive Director of the National Security Institute at George Mason University Law School. Previously, he served in a variety of senior national security roles in the federal government, including as a commissioned officer in the Bush White House, on the leadership teams of the Justice Department’s National Security Division and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and as a senior staff member of the House Intelligence Committee.

Established by U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas in 2022, the CSRB is comprised of the leading private sector cybersecurity experts and senior officials from DHS, CISA, the Department of Defense, the National Security Agency, the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the National Cyber Director, and the Office of Management and Budget.
