Firetail was founded in 2022 and is developing a solution that brings greater robustness and security to application program interfaces (APIs) by delivering API security libraries that can be directly dropped into application code during the development phase.

APIs are now ubiquitous in powering how technology platforms interoperate with one another – they are present in the back-end of nearly every mobile application, every IoT device, in modern web applications, in refactored enterprise applications, and in cloud native applications.

In addition to the cyber security risks of APIs as a digital platform, APIs enable organizations to digitally interact with each other, poorly configured or vulnerable APIs are also a prime path for software supply chain attacks.
