About

Andrea Rigoni is an international authority in digital security, with over thirty years of experience leading cyber transformations for governments, international organizations, and highly regulated industries. He is currently the Founder and Managing Partner of Altirium, a strategic advisory firm fully dedicated to Digital Readiness and Dynamic Resilience.

Previously, he was a Managing Director at Accenture, where he led Security for Healthcare & Public Services globally, managing a €2.5 billion Government & Defence portfolio. He also served as Global Client Account Lead for NATO and European Defence.

As a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, Andrea serves on the Global Cyber Board of Aspen Digital, the Defence Executive Council of DIGITALEUROPE, and the Advisory Board of the Italian Banking Association (ABI). Andrea is also a member of the Global Advisory Board of Forgepoint Capital, one of the leading investors in Cybersecurity. La Repubblica listed him among Italy’s 50 most influential cybersecurity figures in 2021.

Before joining Accenture, Andrea was a Senior Partner at Deloitte, where he built and led a practice of 300 professionals, generating over €23 million in advisory projects across Europe and the Middle East, and directed the Deloitte Digital Policy Center in Brussels. From 2017 to 2019, he was a member of the Italian Government’s Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence.

Andrea has played a key role in establishing or evolving national cyber defence agencies and centres in several countries. He served as Digital Security Advisor to the Italian Prime Minister’s Office (2013–2014), co-authored Italy’s first National Cybersecurity Strategy, and led the creation of the national digital identity system. He has worked on projects for NATO’s Emerging Security Challenges Division, supporting nations such as Ukraine, Georgia, Jordan, Armenia, South Korea, and Rwanda.

Earlier in his career, Andrea worked for Booz Allen Hamilton and Symantec, and served for three years on ICANN’s Security, Stability and Resilience Board, the U.S. government body overseeing Internet governance. He has also served on advisory boards of several innovative companies, including OneID in California.

Author of two NATO reference texts — Computer Network Defence and Next-Generation CERTs — Andrea recently published in the RUSI Journal the article “Reinventing Cyber Defence: Why We Need a New Doctrine to Defend Our Nations” (May 2025). He collaborates with UN/ITU and GFCE on cyber capacity building and regularly delivers lectures, keynotes, and mentoring sessions for the next generation of digital leaders.

He lives near Verona with his wife and two children. A passionate aviator and espresso enthusiast, he believes the mission of security is to enable people to trust technology.
