About
Mr. Smith is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Stohic, Inc., a post-quantum secure collaboration company serving legal, healthcare, and national security markets. He concurrently serves as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Alexander Cybersecurity Systems, where he directs technical strategy for managed security services and compliance programs across SOC 2, CMMC, and HIPAA. Mr. Smith also advises Gallos Tech (2022-present) and previously served as an advisor to Rapta AI (2022-2024).
From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Smith served at the National Security Agency as a Technical Director in Tailored Access Operations, where he was recognized with the Labyrinth Theseus Award and the DNI Exceptional Achievement Medal.
Following his government service, Mr. Smith served as Vice President of Technical Solutions at Praemittias Group International from 2010 to 2012. He subsequently held senior product and engineering leadership across four security companies, each subsequently acquired. As Chief Architect at Endgame (2012-2016; acquired by Elastic), he led endpoint product architecture and the company’s strategic pivot from its federal intelligence base into the commercial enterprise EDR market. As Chief Technology Officer and founding team member at CyberGRX (2016-2018; acquired by Process Unity), he led the technical architecture and early platform development for a pioneering third-party cyber risk exchange that mutualized vendor assessments across enterprise buyers. As Managing Partner at Bantam Technologies (2017-2022; acquired by Two Six Technologies), he led product and engineering of a graph analytics platform for federal analytical missions, enabling pattern-of-life analysis across adaptable data ontologies. As Chief Technology Officer of Boldend (2022-2025; acquired by SIXGEN), he led engineering of mission platforms and operator tooling that automated cyber tradecraft workflows for U.S. Government customers.
Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications from Illinois State University (2004), where he served as a Network Engineer from 2002 to 2004. As an undergraduate, he co-founded the SOS Research Group in 1999 and secured grant funding in 2000 to conduct research on Public Key Infrastructure. His peer-reviewed work on Ethical Hacking, Public Key Infrastructure, and Virtual Private Networking appeared in IEEE and ACM journals between 1999 and 2002. Mr. Smith has held the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation since 2001.
